Eligible expenses for Healthcare FSAs

Examples of eligible expenses include deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, dental, vision care, and prescription drugs.
Over-the-Counter Medications: Recently, the IRS ruled that most over-the-counter medications, such as pain relievers and antacids, are also eligible for reimbursement through FSAs and HRAs. For a list of examples, click here.
The following are additional types of expenses that may be reimbursed from your FSA or HRA. This list is not comprehensive and is subject to change. If you have any questions regarding expense eligibility, please don't hesitate to contact us.

- Removal of lead base paint for children with lead poisoning

- Special education for the blind
- Surgical fees
- Therapeutic care for drug and alcohol treatment
- Therapy treatments
- Transportation expenses primarily for rendition of medical service (e.g., railroad fare to hospital or to recuperation home, cab fare in obstetrical cases, mileage for medical reasons)
- Vision care (eyeglasses, contact lenses and their upkeep, prescription sunglasses, non-prescription reading glasses, laser eye surgery and examination fees)
- Wheelchair
- Wigs

Eligible expenses for Dependent Care
Each of the expenses listed below are potentially qualifying expenses. Expenses must enable the participant and spouse (if applicable) to be gainfully employed or actively look for work.
- After school care or extended day care programs
- Agency fees (if required to obtain the related care).
- Application Fees (if required to obtain the related care).
- Au pair
- Babysitter (unless this is a person for whom the participant can claim a deduction on IRS Form 1040)
- Before-school care
- Day camps (overnight camp is not eligible)
- Day care center
- Deposits (if required to obtain the related care).
- Eldercare
- Nanny
- Prepaid fees for care (qualifies only after the services for which the fees are related have been performed)
- Preschool
- Registration fees (if required to obtain the related care).
- Sick-child facility
