New IRS Rule: Tax Treatment of Healthcare Benefits for Children Under Age 27

In response to the recently enacted federal healthcare legislation, the IRS recently issued Notice 2010-38 regarding the tax treatment of employer-provided health benefits for young adults under age 27. Eligibility of OTC Medicines to Change in 2011

Beginning in January 2011, most over-the-counter (OTC) medicines will no longer be eligible for a spending account without a prescription from a medical provider. Please read more in our April 10 Employer Bulletin.

COBRA Premium Assistance Extended Again

On April 15, 2010, President Obama signed H.R. 4851, the “Continuing Extension Act of 2010,” which extends the end date of eligibility for premium assistance by two more months, from March 31, 2010 to May 31, 2010.
